Madelyn has loved to dance for as long as we can remember. What began with dance classes at five years old has grown into something much deeper—a gift she loves, a discipline she is committed to, and one of the most meaningful ways she connects with and worships God.
This year, Madelyn is taking an exciting next step by preparing to compete at the Universal Ballet Competition (UBC). She's working to raise $3,000 toward the training, competition fees, costumes, and travel that will help make this opportunity possible.
Below are ways to support Madelyn, and scroll all the
way down for more of the "why."

Help her reach her fundraising goal and give her the opportunity to grow, compete, and pursue her passion for ballet.
Why This Next Step?
This past summer, Madelyn attended her first summer dance intensive with Ballet Magnificat!, and it was an incredible experience for her. She loved being immersed in a new environment, learning from different instructors, being challenged in new ways, and growing alongside other dancers.
It also helped us realize the value of giving her opportunities to experience excellent training, while continuing to gain exposure to the larger ballet world. It's a tough road, and we want the opportunity for her to experience things that might be difficult and demanding while she's still with her family to grow and process the things she encounters.
Universal Ballet Competition feels like a natural next step.
As Madelyn dives more deeply into ballet, we want to give her opportunities to learn from different voices, experience new environments, receive individual coaching and feedback, and continue discovering her potential and discern where God is leading her.
The Competition
At Universal Ballet Competition, Madelyn will prepare and compete in four pieces:
Two classical ballet solos
One contemporary solo
One classical duo
Preparing at this level involves much more than competition weekend itself. Over the coming months, Madelyn will continue her regular training at Gulfshore Ballet while adding private coaching and focused preparation for each piece.
She currently trains nearly every day of the week and has increasingly chosen dance even when it has meant letting go of other activities she enjoys.
The more she dances, the more she seems to love it.
